My dad gifted me his Joe, and I need advice on how to clean this, if it is actually salvageable, or do I just go ahead and buy new hardware? Someone I spoke to before said to go ahead and fire it up and it should cook off all this crud. Just need to be pointed in the right direction

Yes fire it up to between 500 and 650 degrees and let it burn for an hour at least
Full load of charcoal, vents all the way open and let ‘er burn.
Everything will turn to ash.
